Milli’s Crumbly Apple Coffee Cake

1-1/8 cup butter

1-1/2 cup sugar

2 eggs

2-1/2 cups or more flour

10-12 medium apples, peeled and thickly sliced

1 tsp. cinnamon

1/2 cup chopped walnuts or any other nuts

Cream 1 cup butter.  Add 1 cup sugar and mix in well.  Add egg and beat well.  Add 2 cups flour or enouh to make a thick dough.  Spread in lightly oiled 12X18 baking dish or jelly roll pan.  Arrange apple slices as closely as possible in rows across the dough.  Combine remaining 2 Tbsp. butter, 1/2 cup sugar and 1/2 cup flour, cinnamon and nuts in a small mixing bowl.  Sprinkle over apples.  Bake 350º F for 40-45 minutes.  Makes 24 servings.
